National Honor Society meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 7 @ 3:10 in the
conference room. If you have a GPA of 3.0 or higher, you qualify. You
must attend this meeting whether or not you are interested in
applying.
Student Council meet in the office meeting room today for lunch. Bring your lunch.
MathCounts meets Tuesday morning, beginning at 7:45 a.m.
The February FCCLA meeting will be on Tuesday, Feb. 7 in the FACS room during lunch.
There will be a FFA meeting in Mr. Franken’s on Monday during high school lunch. Bring your own lunch.
Saturday, February 18 is the 6th Annual – Lee Schlagel
Memorial Basketball Tournament at the Clark High School. Groton boys’
will be one of the teams playing. There will be a lunch starting at
11:00 and a silent auction and raffle items.
Quarve Quackers 6th Annual Relay for Life Pie Auction on
Saturday, February 18 at Todd’s Tavern in Amherst. Supper at 5:00
p.m. Pie auction at 7:00 p.m. All proceeds to to tMarshall County
Relay for Life.
Spring Lifetouch pictures will be taken on Wednesday, February 22.
The NSU Symphonic Band will perform in the old gym on February 7th from 8:30-9:20. All students in grades 6-12 will attend.
Summer registration for dual credit is now open. Applications are on
the counter in the office. Please see Dr. Schwan for questions.
Seniors--Early senior privileges are scheduled to begin on February
24th. You will not receive early privileges on February 24th if you
have had any unexcused absences this school year, suspensions for
behavior, or more than one grade of a "D" at the time of early granting.
Please read the handbook regarding the criteria for early senior
privileges as well as the requirements for maintaining privileges
throughout the remainder of the year, most specifically the GPA and
grade requirements. Seniors will not receive privileges until all senior pictures have been remitted. You
will receive an e-mail from me on February 21st if you are not eligible
for early senior privileges. Please see me with any questions, Dr.
Schwan.

Grades 10-11: You and your parents are invited to a presentation on Getting Ready for your Future on Feb 9th from
6-7 pm in the computer lab. Jennie Thompson from Great Lakes Financial
will be here to teach you and your parents about scholarships and
financial aid.
Grade 12: FAFSA Lab – On Thursday, February 9th at
7 pm during Parent Teacher Conferences, Jennie Thompson from Great
Lakes will be available in the computer lab to work with parents on
filling out the FAFSA. Student and parent tax information from 2015 is
required along with social security numbers, bank account info, and
asset information. It would be a good idea to get started with the
FAFSA prior to meeting with Jennie and then ask her any questions you
may have about finishing the process. You and your student will also
need identification numbers (FSAID) in order to complete the FAFSA.
