MS/HS Bulletin December 19, 2013

The Parkston Classic is on Saturday, December 28.  Groton girls will play Ethan at 5:30 p.m.

 

Chili Dog Feed on Friday, January 3 at the Deuel vs Groton Double Header in Clear Lake.   $6 for a meal:  hot dog with BBQ, chips, drink, ice cream bar or $5 for a meal if you bring one SACH food item.  $3 for an extra chili dog.  Serving starts at 5:15.  Proceeds go towards the Stewards Against Childhood Hunger project that provides weekend meals for Deuel elementary children. 

 

JH Boys B-ball practice will start Monday, Jan 6th at 3:45pm

 

If you need a cover for a textbook – stop in the office.

The lost and found pile in the office is growing.  Pink Gap fleece, red Columbia fleece, black Groton Tiger pull-over, black fleece, several single glove/mitten, Canon camera case and Canon lens cover, gray flannel belt for a coat, white stocking hat

Seniors that will be taking Student Internship, second semester, will meet on Wednesday during Advisory in the conference room.  Prior to the meeting, you must have contacted and gotten permission from the teacher that you plan to work with.  If you would like to work with a teacher in the elementary, stop in to see Mrs. Schwan.

Congratulations to AnneMarie S for placing first in her seventh grade bracket at Wednesday's Roncalli Invitational MathCounts Countdown Competition!  Congratulations to the eighth graders for also placing in their respective brackets:  Marshall L and Madilyn W, third places; Madison S and Alex S, fourth places!  Well done, mathletes!

The Show Choir will have the annual Christmas goodie bake sale before the MS/HS Christmas Concert on Thursday, December 12th from 5-7pm in the gym.

 

Show Choir members, please have your baked goods to the gym by 3:30pm on Thursday.  You may drop your items off before school in Mr. Weber's office on Thursday.

MS/HS Bulletin December 6, 2013


Middle School Students
  • If you are on the ineligibility list, policy states you MUST stay after school until 4:00 pm every day (except Wednesday) until your grades are again passing.  If you are unable to attend, your parent must schedule a meeting with the teachers and the principal so that an academic plan may be completed.  Failure to comply with these guidelines, without parent notification and principal approval, may result in suspension.
  • If you name appears on the list, you will report to teacher on duty's classroom (see list below) to work until 4:00.  You will report there every day Monday-Thursday.  If you cannot meet on one of those days you will report to the office on Friday from 3:30-4:00 to work.  Remember, once your grades are passing you will no longer be required to stay.
  • Should you skip a night without making arrangements with the teacher on duty, you will be assigned a detention of one hour to be served in the office. 
  • Teacher-on-duty December 9th-13th is Mr. Hawkins. 

Show choir members must turn in their Tour of Homes ticket money and unsold tickets today! Also, if you are setting up tomorrow it will begin at 2:00.

Today is the Elementary Christmas Concert at 2:00 p.m.  The following School Board Policy will be will enforced for  students planning to attend the concert:  Page 16 in the Student Handbook - Students are not allowed to attend regular elementary school activities which are held during the school day unless they are watching a sibling, they are accompanied by a parent, and are not on the ineligibility list. All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance. (Due to the snow day yesterday parents are able to notify the office today).   Any violations will result in an unexcused absence. This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal.

All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance. Any violations will result in an unexcused absence. This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal.

Grade 11:  ACT practice test will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 – 11:55.  Mrs. Sternhagen talked to the class during English 11 but check your email for testing locations.  See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.
