MS/HS Bulletin February 22

Girls’ basketball players turn in your uniforms to Mr. Wanner this week.  Make sure they are washed!

Cast and crew of “Shakespeare for Kids!” – there will be a lunch meeting this Thursday, February 23 in Mrs. Honerman’s room to decide details for our cast party. Please bring possible dates, ideas, and most importantly – something to eat!

Anyone grades 7-12 interested in participating in Student Congress this spring should plan to attend a short meeting after school on Wednesday, March 1, 2017 in Room 308. If you cannot attend, but are interested, please contact Mrs. Gonsoir before March 1, 2017.

There will be a Pep Rally for the state-bound wrestlers today at 3:05.  We will run the advisory schedule.

At lunch this week you can find out who sent you your lollipop - for $2.00.

The dates and locations for the public meetings concerning the proposed building project at Groton Area MS/HS have been finalized.  Encourage your parents to attend the meetings.

National FFA Week.  During this week, we will be having a few activities.

Hat Day will be Tuesday - Friday.  You can pay $1 per day to wear a hat.  Pay your $1 in the library before school to a FFA member and get a sticker to put on your hat.

Ag Olympics at 3:00 for junior high.

Applications due March 6 for swimming pool lifeguards, baseball/softball coaches, groundskeepers, ticket takers.  Visit City of Groton, 209 N Main or call 397-8422.

SD National Guard is sponsoring a Dodgeball Tournament on February 22 for ages 15 – 25.  For more information check out the posters hanging around the school.

8th grade students will participate in the 3M Engineering Expo on Tuesday, March 7th in the library conference room. Students will be divided into two groups, one group will go from 8:30-9:30 and the second from 9:30-10:30.
Data Match sales will continue through the week during lunch.  Cost is $1.

Summer registration for dual credit is now open.  Applications are on the counter in the office.  Please see Dr. Schwan for questions.

Grade 12:  Be sure and get the FAFSA done by March 1st so you are eligible for loans and grants for tech or college!  www.fafsa.gov

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the April 8 test is due online by March 3, 2017 .  Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen or Groton but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: June, Sept. Oct. and Dec.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.
