MS/HS Bulletin December 17

Student Council wants you all to wear your ugly Christmas sweater tomorrow (Friday).  Best dressed high school student and best dressed junior high student will each receive a prize.

Burger Feed at the Groton vs Deuel game on Friday, December 18 starting at 5:00 p.m.   Burger, chips, drink and bar/cookie for $6.  Extra sandwich for $3.  All proceeds go towards post prom events.

Students that are planning to attend the Elementary Christmas concert on Friday at 2:00 p.m. reminder of the School Board Policy.  Students are not allowed to attend regular school activities which are held during the school day unless they are watching a sibling, they are accompanied by a parent, and are not on the ineligibility list.  All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance.  Any violations will result in an unexcused absence.  This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal, all work must be completed prior to being excused. 

Sixth grade girls’ basketball team is having a T-shirt/sweatshirt fundraiser.  Order forms are in the office.  They are due tomorrow.   

Show Choir Bake Sale is  today at 5:00 p.m.  The MS/HS Christmas Concert will start at 7:00 p.m.

The Student Council is sponsoring a "Holiday Drive."  They will be accepting donations of new items to be given to area organizations for the purpose of helping those in need.  Please visit the Christmas tree in the office for ideas of what to donate.    Items may be dropped off at the office thru Friday, December 18.  Thank you for your help!

Attention 6th and 7th grade boys and girls: The Aberdeen Babysitting Clinic is scheduled for December 29, 2015 from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm. Students who participate in the NESD AHEC Babysitting Clinic will learn basic CPR for child and infant, basic First-Aid, and basic babysitting information.  The cost of the training is $55 per student. Call 229-8309 to pre-register (PRE-REGISTRATION is REQUIRED).

Yearbooks are for sale at the business office. 
$50.00 for the book.
$5.00 for personalization and
$3.00 for any icon they want added to their cover.
These sale prices will be good until the end of the 1st Semester (January 8th)
After January 8th - the prices of the book will go up.  New prices will be

All students who are registered for internship next semester are required to attend a meeting Wednesday December 16th, during advisory in Ms. Lingbeck classroom.  If you cannot attend the meeting for any circumstance you must notify Ms. Lingbeck.

Students that are planning to attend the Elementary Christmas concert on Friday at 2:00 p.m. reminder of the School Board Policy.  Students are not allowed to attend regular school activities which are held during the school day unless they are watching a sibling, they are accompanied by a parent, and are not on the ineligibility list.  All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance.  Any violations will result in an unexcused absence.  This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal, all work must be completed prior to being excused.

MS/HS Bulletin November 12

All Senior Show Choir members meet in the band room during advisory.

Thanks to all of the students who participated in the food drive last night!  We collected ALOT of food and are going to be able to help those in our community!

Cast and Crew of "The Mousetrap" - rehearsal tomorrow (Friday) is at 3:30 pm. Everyone wanting to help with the crew needs to be there so that we can assign tech jobs and run the show. If you are unable to attend, please email Mrs. Honerman ASAP to let her know. Call time for Sunday's performance is 2:00 pm. Please be there to get everything ready for the show.

Reminder today is Parent/Teacher Conferences from 1:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. in the HS Gym.  School will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m.  As your parents come in the door they will receive your class schedule.  In order for you to get 10 bonus points they will need to have contact will all your teachers.   Parents do not need to visit with the teachers that you have an A in their class.  

No school tomorrow because of teacher inservice.

Grades 9-12 Girls Basketball meeting on Monday at 3:15 in Mr. Wanner’s classroom. 

Snow Queen Talent Competition forms are in the office. Forms need to be turn in to Mr. Swanson by Nov. 18. Those performing will have run-throughs on Monday, Nov. 23 at 3:30 PM. Preliminary cuts may be made if there is a large number of performers.

Pre-sale play tickets are available in the business office.  Student tickets are $4 and adults are $7.  The play will be on Sunday at 3:30 and again on Tuesday at 6:30 p.m.

The Annual School-Wide Food Drive will be held this Wednesday, November 11 at 6:00.  Meet in the arena lobby to get into groups and get your routes.  Pizza and pop will be served after the food is collected!  All are welcome, please join us!!!!

Pep Fest today, in the arena, for the football team for the semi-finals.  The band and cheerleaders will be dismissed at 2:45.  Students must go to advisory then will be dismissed by intercom.

Congratulations to the volleyball team on their win last night against Sisseton.  They play Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. against Milbank at Milbank.

Groton Community Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 31 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church parking lot.  There will be safe trick-or-treating and games from the trunk of decorated vehicles around the parking lot.  Concessions available in the church.  (Kiwanis is not doing a party at the gym this year.)

The Golden Living Center and Lions Club will be sponsoring a Trick or Treat party at the Golden Living Center on October 31 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  All are welcome!
