MS/HS Boolletin October 31


Snow Queen Practice will be at 1:00 on Saturday at the high school gym.  The contest starts at 7:00 p.m. in the GHS Gym.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the December 13 test is due online by November 7.   Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Juniors please see Mrs. Sternhagen and read the email sent to you this week.   Test dates are:  December 13, February 7, April 18 and June 13.

  • If you are on the list on October 23rd you will be in school on the 24th from 8:00-3:00 (teacher in-service). 
  • If you skip ICU two times in a row, you will receive an hour detention. 
  • Skipping advisory to avoid ICU will not be tolerated; this will result in detention.
  • Lateness is not acceptable.  Morning ICU begins at 7:30 am sharp.
State Championship Boys Soccer Shirt order forms are in the office.  All orders must be in by Monday, October 27.  Payment is due at time of ordering.

Grades 11-12:   Reminder of things to do for the ACT Test on Saturday, October 25 at Groton.  Enter the building at the office entrance.  Bring your admission ticket and a driver’s license (photo ID), 2 calculators, pencils with erasers, a watch, and possibly a water bottle.  Be sure and show up at the testing location at least 15 minutes early.  It might be a good idea to review last minute formulas and rules.  No caps are to be worn during testing.  No beverage will be allowed in the testing area.  No cell phones are to be used at any time during test (including the break). Testing should conclude around noon.  Those who are taking the writing assessment should be done by 12:45 p.m.  Be sure and do the practice test prior to the test.  Stop by the GO if you need an extra copy.
