MS/HS Bulletin

Student Bulletin

Students on ICU--you owe much work today.  Be prepared to come to school on Monday if you still have missing work!  ICU will be held this afternoon until 5:00; you've still got plenty of time.

Musicians, congratulations on a wonderful concert last night.  You have much to be proud of and put on an exceptional show last night that was enjoyed by all.  Great job!

Wrestling Cheerleaders will have practice on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.

Be sure to use your bonus points today.  Today is the last day of the 2nd quarter/1st Semester.

Juniors--Your lunch on Friday will be pizza, compliments of the Student Council in celebration of your win on Game Day this fall.  Meet in the arena lobby during your lunch period.  You can bring pop to this lunch.

Student Bulletin

There was an inhaler turned in to the office. 

Mrs. Seibel’s 9th grade health class will meet in the gym today.

If you would to change a second semester class you can pick up a class change sheet from Mrs. Sternhagen or in the office tomorrow.  Tomorrow and Friday are the only days to change classes. 

Grades 7 through 12 St. Elizabeth Ann Seton youth will meet at 6:30 p.m. tonight at the church.  They will have pizza followed by “Survivor Night” activities.

Can you put in the announcements that the 8th grade girls basketball players need to meet in my room right after school.

Also, the 7th and 8th grade basketball players need to be to the bus by 5:10 tonight.

MathCounts meets Tuesday morning, beginning at 7:45 a.m., in Mrs. Johnson's room #226.

Be aware that winter sports pictures will be on Friday beginning at 10:30.  Make sure your stuff is in school!  We don't have time for you to have to run home; make sure you have everything you need here in school on Friday.  Pictures will be taken in the arena.  If we are taking still taking pictures when the elementary concert is going on make sure you walk through the gym, quietly, behind the curtain on the east side.

Performance is Sunday, December 14 at 3:30 pm. Come support your friends and their talents in a musical all about the ugly duckling and his search for happiness!

Testing should conclude around noon.  Those who are taking the writing assessment should be done by 12:45 p.m.  Be sure and do the practice test prior to the test.  Stop by the GO if you need an extra copy.

Congratulations to the MathCounts students for earning awards at Wednesday's Roncalli Invitational MathCounts Countdown Competition!  The eighth grade team placed first, and the seventh grade team placed second in their respective divisions. 

All eight individuals received certificates in their individual competitions: 
First places: AnneMarie S, Micah P, Jennie D, Isaac S, and Hunter S
Third place: Kaycie H
Fourth places: Cassandra T and Kayla J 

Well done, mathletes!

Student of the Month picture will be taken today (Thursday) in the Library during advisory.  Check in with your advisory teacher before you go to the library.

Jostens will be here on Monday, Dec. 8.  They will be meeting with Juniors at 8:30 for class rings and Seniors after for caps, tassels, stoles, etc...  They will be back on Friday, Dec. 12 from 8:00 - 9:30 to take orders.

**Middle School students on the ineligibility list will no longer be required to stay until 4:00 UNLESS you are on the ICU list.  In that case you will follow the normal ICU protocol.  Be prepared, if you are on the list you will stay!

Even if you have not signed up, you are welcome to come to the FBLA Frozen Semi-Formal tonight.  (Grades 9-12)  The formal will be in the Old Gym and from 9PM-12AM.  Couples $15, $10 for a single, and $20 for yourself and an out of town date.  You pay at the dance.  Hope to see all of you there! 

Year books for 2015 can be pre-purchased at the cost of $50.00 up until December 19th.
After December 19th they will go up to $55.00
If you want your book personalized it is an extra $3.00

NSU is having a Cheer Camp tomorrow.  There is information on the bulletin board outside the office.

Grades 6-12:  Tutors will meet with students on Mondays and Wednesdays during advisory.   Reminder to students - if you are on ICU you will go to ICU rather than meet with your tutor.  Tutors, please check the ICU room if students do not come to tutoring on Mondays and Wednesdays.

Grade 10:  All 10th graders will take the SDCAP ability profiler test on Dec. 9-10 during English (periods 2-6-7).  Please bring your computers.

Grade 12:  Financial Aid Information night will be held on Monday, December 8th at 5:30 pm in the computer lab (please note the time change – originally was at 7 pm).

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the February 7 test is due online by January 9.   Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Juniors please see Mrs. Sternhagen and read the email sent to you last week.   Test dates are:  February 7, April 18 and June 13.    ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen – come to the GO on Wednesday during advisory and bring your computers.

CCD classes for St. Elizabeth Ann Seton juniors and seniors will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the church.  They are not going to the “Y.”

FBLA meeting today, during advisory in Ms. Lingbecks room. 

The December FCCLA Meeting will be on Wednesday, Dec. 3 during advisory.
