MS/HS Bulletin October 6

A reminder to the cast of “The Mousetrap” – there will NOT be rehearsal tomorrow morning, Wednesday, October 7.

All JH and HS Band members remember to bring a pan of wrapped bars for the festival on Friday.

MS/HS LifeTouch pictures will be taken tomorrow.  If you plan to order pictures, please have your envelope along with payment ready when you take pictures.  If you did not get an envelope stop in the office. 

FBLA will be hosting a blood drive on Wednesday October 14, in the Groton High School gym from 9:00-2:30, please contact Ms. Lingbeck or an FBLA member if you would like to schedule an appointment to donate.

Any students interested in debate should plan to attend an informational meeting in room 308, Mrs. Gonsoir's room, on Thursday, October 8 during advisory. If you cannot attend this meeting, please see Mrs. Gonsoir sometime before the meeting.

Student Council members, please check in with Dr. Schwan to let her know if you plan to attend the Regional Student Council Workshop on October 16th.

Dual credit registration for Spring opens November 16th.  Please see Mrs. Sternhagen or Dr. Schwan with questions.  Dual credit registrations must be submitted to Dr. Schwan by December 18.

The October FCCLA meeting will be Tuesday during advisory in the FACS room. 

Good luck to the volleyball teams today against Leola/Frederick.

Grade 11:  Reminder of Post High Planning Days on Thursday, October 8th.  We will be dismissed at 9:15 and will return to Groton by 2:30.  Please dress school appropriately (no caps, decent clothes) and wear closed-toe shoes.  Bring money for lunch.  See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have any questions.

Grade 12:  There will be no ACT testing on October 24th in Groton due to low registration numbers.  ACT has rescheduled all Groton students for a different test site.  Please check your email – you will need to log in to the www.actstudent.org and print a new admission ticket.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you need any help.

Grade 10:  HOBY leadership seminar applications (1 page double spaced on your activities, leadership experiences, and why you would like to attend HOBY) due to Mrs. Sternhagen by Friday, October 16.   This 3 day camp in June (usually at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell) is a great opportunity to develop leadership skills as you meet with students from across SD and with business leaders.
