MS/HS Bulletin October 21

Tomorrow is the last day of the quarter.  If you received bonus points be sure to use them by tomorrow. 

Good luck to the MathCounts team today at Warner.  You will be dismissed at 11:40 a.m.

Crew of “The Mousetrap” – there will be a brief meeting today after school at 3:40 in Mrs. Honerman’s classroom. If you are unable to attend, please let Mrs. Honerman know so she can get you information.

Yearbook meeting in room 304 during advisory on Wednesday.

Table Talks today. 

7th and 8th grade girls' basketball will begin Monday, October 26th right after school.  Please sign up in Miss Erickson's room (Room 206) if you are interested in playing.

Students, you are not allowed to drive or ride with anyone other than YOUR parent, not your sibling, not your friend's mom, and not your significant other's mom.  You will lose open campus privileges for a month.

Groton Community Trunk-or-Treat on Saturday, October 31 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the Methodist Church parking lot.  There will be safe trick-or-treating and games from the trunk of decorated vehicles around the parking lot.  Concessions available in the church.  (Kiwanis is not doing a party at the gym this year.)

The Golden Living Center and Lions Club will be sponsoring a Trick or Treat party at the Golden Living Center on October 31 from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.  All are welcome!

Parent’s night for volleyball is on Friday, October 23.  Game with Britton/Hecla.  You will need to give $3.00 to Jan Hoffman by next Thursday, October 22.

Parkston is having its annual chili cook-off at the October 22, Parkston vs. Groton football game.  $5 a cup, try as many different chilies as you want and eat as much as you want.  Cinnamon rolls will be sold for $1. 

Dual credit registration for Spring opens November 16th.  Please see Mrs. Sternhagen or Dr. Schwan with questions.  Dual credit registrations must be submitted to Dr. Schwan by December 18.

Grades 6-9 and 12:  Smarter Balanced bonus points will be passed out during your English course and are to be used in quarter 1.  Many students earned levels 3 and 4 for bonus points – congratulations! 
  
Grade 9:  Pathways forms were sent to your parents on Friday.  Please return your sheet to Mrs. Sternhagen.
 
Grades 11-12:  The following college representatives will be in the School Counseling Office to visit with students.  Please make arrangements with your teachers.
