MS/HS Bulletin February 3, 2014

Congratulations to Groton's MathCounts team, Marshall L, Micah P, Madison S, and AnneMarie S, for earning the fourth place trophy and plaque at Saturday's Northeastern South Dakota MathCounts Competition at SDSU!

 

Good luck to the girls and boys’  basketball teams tonight against Langford.

JV Girls – 4:00, JV Boys – 5:00, Varsity Girls – 6:30, and Boys – 8:00

PAC will be serving a supper from 4:30 – 7:00.  BBQ, chips, homemade bars, and lemonade for $5.

The boys’ varsity basketball game is the Game of the Week.  They will be live streaming the game.

 

Juniors--remember to bring your $5 and 12 wrapped bars to the office today by 3:30!

 

JO Volleyball players - Your signed forms (including the folder) need to be turned into Mr. Helvig as soon as possible.  See Coach Helvig if you need forms to fill out.

 

The February FCCLA meeting will be Tuesday, Feb. 4 during advisory in the FACS room.

 

February 10-14 is National FCCLA week, our chapter has several events and fundraisers planned to celebrate the week including:

*Crush cans that will be sold during lunch Feb 10, 11, and 12 and will delivered on Feb. 13.

 

*Pregnancy Belly Fundraiser - Put your extra change in the jar of your favorite male teacher who you would like to see wear the pregnancy simulation belly for one day!  The teacher with the most money will wear the belly for a whole day!  You can begin filling the jars on Feb. 5-11, they will be in office!

 

All proceeds will go towards Groton Community Improvement Projects.

Grades 10-11:  Beacom School of Business 2014 Summer Accounting Institute July 13 – July 17 at USD.  Cost is $75.  Please stop and see Mrs. Sternhagen.   Go to www.usd.edu/business/accounting/summer-institute.cfm

 

Grade 11:  Youth Business Adventure:  Paper applications are due Jan. 31 to Mrs. Sternhagen.  YBA is a 1 week program held in June in which students learn about economic, management, and market-oriented issues.  It is a leadership experience in which all students (regardless of what career interest area) will benefit.  Cost is $250 but financial assistance is available if needed.  See Mrs. Sternhagen for the application.
