Remind your parents that tomorrow are Parent/Teacher Conferences from 1:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
MS/HS will be dismissed at 1:15 p.m. Ten bonus points will be given to student whose parents meet will all their teachers.
If you have an “A” in a class your parents do not have to meet with those teachers but are more than welcome to.
The Progress Report grade that was pulled yesterday is the grade that determined if you have an “A” in a class.
Students--Pay
$1 to wear a hat on Thursday to raise money to help Denny Davies. Give
your contribution to the office when you come to school
on Thursday.
Any
girls interested in attending Girls State, please meet in the library
conference room on Wednesday February 19th during Advisory.
Check in with your advisory teacher before you go to the meeting.
JO Volleyball players - Your signed forms (including the folder) need to be turned into Mr. Helvig as soon as possible. See
Coach Helvig if you need forms to fill out. There will be a meeting after school in the computer lab on Wednesday, February 19 right after school.
Crush cans will be sold during lunch today and delivered tomorrow.
All proceeds will go towards Groton Community Improvement Projects.

Groton
Senior Citizens club could use volunteers on Saturday, Feb. 15 helping
with lunch and card party from 2-4 pm. Contact Bev Sombke at 397-2776.
Grades 9-12:
Reminder to all students
who have chosen the Graduation Pathway – your parents will need to sign
an exemption at the high school. Please see Mrs. Sternhagen to set up a time during conferences.
Grades 10-11:
On Thursday, Feb.
13 during conferences from 7-8 pm, Jennie Thompson of Great Lakes will
speak to you and your parents about financial aid and scholarship
planning. Invitation letters were mailed to you and your parents –
plan to attend as this is a great way to learn about
the things you will have to be doing in the senior year!
Grade 10: We will use a computer
cart for registration on Thursday so you will NOT need your computers.
Grade 12:
In
order to be eligible for the best financial aid package you must meet
your school’s financial aid priority filing dates. Most SD schools
have a priority date of
March 1 but some schools (U of M for example) may have earlier
deadlines. Be sure and go to www.fafsa.gov
NOT fafsa.com.
Grade 11 and 12:
ACT registration for the April 12th test is due online by March 7 Register at www.actstudent.org
and pay with a credit card. You can test in Groton or in Aberdeen. Be
sure to list Groton as your home school. Remember you must upload a
photo to register and then print the admission ticket. Fee waivers are
available – stop by the GO. Juniors please
see Mrs. Sternhagen.
Seniors:
Reminder
of the qualifying sub-scores needed for 4-year college placement on the
Act (20 in math, 18 in English). The state of SD will now reimburse
students as long as they finish the course. Please check your email for more information.
