MS/HS Bulletin December 3rd, 2013



The December FCCLA meeting is today during advisory!!!

 

Basketball shirt order forms are available the office.  They are due back in the office on Tuesday, December 10.  They are pretty nice looking.

 

"Reminder for the boys/girls basketball cheerleaders. There will be practice tonight in the old gym starting at 5:30pm."

An online store for a huge selection of Groton Tiger merchandise has been set up.  The link can be found on our school's homepage, grotonarea.com.  Check it out...There is clothing for every activity and family member.

 

Show choir members (including pit and tech):

The sign-up sheets for the Tour of Homes and the Christmas Concert bake sale are up now. All show choir members must sign up to work at the Tour of Homes. Students who sign up to work the bake sale will get $8 per hour. 

 

"I Hate Shakespeare!" shirts are available from Mrs. Honerman. If you ordered a shirt, please bring $10 to pay for it. You will not receive your shirt until it has been paid for.

 

Yearbooks are for sale.  The cost without a name is $45 and with a name is $47.  The price will go up after Christmas.

 

Our school district has been selected to participate in a study conducted by South Dakota State University.  To participate, I would appreciate it if you would please take a brief online survey that will ask you questions about school wellness.

Volleyball players hand in all uniforms and warm ups.  They must be washed and on a hanger. 

 

Thursday, December 5 is the Elementary Christmas Concert at 2:00 p.m.  The following School Board Policy will be will enforced for  students planning to attend the concert:  Page 16 in the Student Handbook - Students are not allowed to attend regular elementary school activities which are held during the school day unless they are watching a sibling, they are accompanied by a parent, and are not on the ineligibility list. All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance. Any violations will result in an unexcused absence. This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal.

 

Good luck to the debaters at the Sippel Novice Debate at Groton today. 

 

Good luck to the JH Girls’ basketball team against Clark/Willow Lake today at home at 6:00 p.m. 

 

Congratulations to the students of the month for November:  Kya J, Tylan G, Madison S, Landon M, Allison W, Luke S, Cheyenne S.  Photos will be taken on Wednesday in the Guidance Office.  Please bring your forms to Mrs. Sternhagen.

 

Grade 11:  ACT practice test will be held on Wednesday from 8:30 – 11:55.  Mrs. Sternhagen talked to the class during English 11 but check your email for testing locations.  See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions. 

 

Grades 9-12:  Any student interested in helping with 3D Month activities – Drinking and Drugged Driving Prevention Month should stop by and see Mrs. Sternhagen.
