MS/HS Bulletin December 19, 2013

The Parkston Classic is on Saturday, December 28.  Groton girls will play Ethan at 5:30 p.m.

 

Chili Dog Feed on Friday, January 3 at the Deuel vs Groton Double Header in Clear Lake.   $6 for a meal:  hot dog with BBQ, chips, drink, ice cream bar or $5 for a meal if you bring one SACH food item.  $3 for an extra chili dog.  Serving starts at 5:15.  Proceeds go towards the Stewards Against Childhood Hunger project that provides weekend meals for Deuel elementary children. 

 

JH Boys B-ball practice will start Monday, Jan 6th at 3:45pm

 

If you need a cover for a textbook – stop in the office.

 

The lost and found pile in the office is big! 

 

Middle School--If you are still on the ineligible list you will report to Mrs. Kurtz's room this week, everyday from 3:30-4:00.  If you will be gone you must make arrangements beforehand with Mrs. Kurtz and Mrs. Schwan

 

Today and tomorrow students can change schedules.  Change sheets are available in the office or from Mrs. Sternhagen. 

 

Groton Transit Christmas Open House and Bake Sale today from 10:00 – 5:00 p.m.  Shop for your Christmas baked goodies, enjoy refreshments, treats, and register for door prizes.

 

The following students need to turn in their tour of homes ticket money as soon as possible: Truitt R, and Garrett S

 

The cheerleaders are selling Tiger Stocking Hats for $15, Tiger Headbands for $10 and Tiger Lanyards for $2.  They would make a great Christmas gift!  Stop in the office if you are interested.

 

The following students still owe Mrs. Honerman $10 for their play t-shirts. Jocelyn P, Aaron S.

 

Yearbooks are for sale.  The cost without a name is $45 and with a name is $47.  The price will go up after Christmas.

 

Good luck to the boys’ basketball teams tonight against Redfield/Doland.  The “C” game starts at 5:15 p.m.  Wear your Christmas sweaters to the games tonight.

 

Grades 10-12:  Anyone interested in ACT Prep tutoring over Christmas, should contact Erin Sternhagen at Erin.Sternhagen@coyotes.usd.edu.  Erin has been tutoring for six years and is a Medical Biology major at USD.  She will provide study books and materials and will work with individuals or groups on ACT skills. 

 

Grades 11-12:  Any student interested in the National Guard or Reserves should see Mrs. Sternhagen.

 

Grade 9:  Reminder to bring your pathways sheets to Mrs. Sternhagen – Jessica A, Brett B, Tate C, Nathan F, Kayla F, Dillon F, Joe G, Alexis H, Jazzmine H, Colton H, Wyatt K, McKenzie M, Nicklos M, Truitt R, Sarah S, Tage T

 

Grade 11 and 12: ACT registration for the February 8 test is due online by January 10th   Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You can test in Aberdeen.  Be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.
