MS/HS Bulletin October 11, 2013

There will be a wrestling meeting Wednesday, Sept 16th at 3:10 in the wrestling room.

Jr. and Sr. Snow Queen Candidates will have a meeting Wednesday, October 16 in the library at 3:10.  Check in to Advisory before going to the meeting.

Evidently some of you have a foul smelling spray that you have chosen to use in our classrooms and hallways.  Please be advised that this has now begun to affect our school day, and if you continue to either use or disperse the spray you will face suspension as it has become a health issue.

Students--Please be aware of the attendance policy concerning work.  "Students may be excused to work at home in case of absolute necessity; however, no student will be excused to work for anyone other than parents."  You will receive an unexcused absence if you leave school to go to work if it is not at home for your parents.

The following students need to pay Mrs. Stauch, $5 for parents night:

FOOTBALL:  Garrett W, Nathan W, Parker R, Dylan K, Tyra L, Cheyanne S, Nikki K
GOLF: Parker R

Junior class t-shirt orders are due today.  Order forms are on the counter in the office.

There are still some Homecoming t-shirts for sale for $14.  See Mr. Franken if you would like one.

Grades 10-12: 10 Volunteers for the SDPB Thomas the Tank Engine event at the Old Milwaukee Train Depot in Aberdeen on October 19th. It’s a meet & greet with a “life-size”  Thomas the Tank Engine character throughout the day. We also will have our science guy doing demonstrations about movement, along with presentations by the model railroad club and the ladies from the old pheasant sandwich canteen that was in the depot during the war. We will have ropes up for people to stand in line for photos, and we need about 10 or 12 volunteers to help direct people where to go, pass out goodie bags, and assist with “crowd control.” The event is noon-5pm, so we are asking volunteers to be there by 11:30. We originally thought about doing shifts, but we’d prefer it if the volunteers could stay for the majority of the time. Please contact Susie Oliver at the Groton Wells Fargo bank at 397-2301.
