Grades 10-12: 10 Volunteers for the SDPB Thomas the Tank Engine event at the Old Milwaukee Train Depot in Aberdeen on October 19th. It’s a meet & greet with a “life-size”  Thomas the Tank Engine character throughout the day. We also will have our science guy doing demonstrations about movement, along with presentations by the model railroad club and the ladies from the old pheasant sandwich canteen that was in the depot during the war. We will have ropes up for people to stand in line for photos, and we need about 10 or 12 volunteers to help direct people where to go, pass out goodie bags, and assist with “crowd control.” The event is noon-5pm, so we are asking volunteers to be there by 11:30. We originally thought about doing shifts, but we’d prefer it if the volunteers could stay for the majority of the time. Please contact Susie Oliver at the Groton Wells Fargo bank at 397-2301.
