Groton Area School Patrons,
Official ballots are ready for the upcoming April 11th MS/HS
Bond Election. As a result you may begin voting absentee in
person until 5:00 pm the day before the election at the MS/HS Business
Office located at 406 North 2nd Street in Groton. Any application for a
ballot by authorized messenger must be received by School Business
Manager, Mike Weber, before 3:00 pm on election day. Voters who can use
an authorized messenger are those who are confined due to sickness or
disability.
All voters who wish to vote absentee by mail or want to take their
ballot with them from the Business Office to vote at home will first
have to complete and submit an absentee ballot application. Voters may
contact the School Business Office at (605) 397-2351 for a copy of the
application or the form can be printed from the website of the South
Dakota Secretary of State at https://sdsos.gov/elections-voting/voting/absentee-voting.aspx
With any of the aforementioned voting options, you will be required
to provide valid photo identification before receiving your ballot.
Eligible voters not yet registered must do so prior to 5:00 pm, Monday,
March 27th.

Junior High Boys and Girls track will start on Tuesday March 28th right after school in the old gym.
All students--You are in the lunchroom during lunch. If you walk
home and get back before the bell you return to the lunchroom. You will
not be in the hallways or in classrooms.
No printing to the main computer lab during testing!

Summer registration for dual credit is now open. Applications are on
the counter in the office. Please see Dr. Schwan for questions.
Testing 2017:
Students Grades 6-7-8- 11 will be taking the Smarter Balanced and SD Science test in the next few weeks. Please
make plans to be here during testing as it must be made up. All
students will need headsets – please bring these to school.
All backpacks and cell phones must be put away during testing. Cell
phones can not be accessed during testing. All computers must be
charged – you will test on your computer!
Bring other work to do after you are finished testing.

There will be two groups of students for ELA and Math – one will test
in the morning and one in the afternoon. Testing groups will be read
to you during English classes and will be posted outside the conference
room/computer lab and Mrs. Sternhagen’s room.
Grades 6, 8, and 11 will test periods 1-3 and periods 5-7. Grade 7 ELA
will test periods 1-2 and 5-6 on Day 1 and periods 1-3 and 5-7 on Day
2. Grade 7 Math will test periods 1-3 and 5-7 on both days.
