MS/HS Bulletin March 2

Good luck to the Boys’ Basketball Team at Webster tonight.  Groton plays Roncalli at 7:30 p.m.

The March FCCLA Meeting will be on Thursday, March 9 in the FACS room.  Lunch will be served!

FBLA meeting Tuesday, March 7th during lunch in Ms. Lingbeck's room.  Bring your own lunch!

Wrestlers will hand in their uniforms Thursday after school in the wrestling room.

The dates and locations for the public meetings concerning the proposed building project at Groton Area MS/HS have been finalized.  Encourage your parents to attend the meetings.

Thursday, March 9^th – Groton Community Center – 7:00 PM

Applications due March 6 for swimming pool lifeguards, baseball/softball coaches, groundskeepers, ticket takers.  Visit City of Groton, 209 N Main or call 397-8422.

8th grade students will participate in the 3M Engineering Expo on Tuesday, March 7th in the library conference room. Students will be divided into two groups, one group will go from 8:30-9:30 and the second from 9:30-10:30.

Summer registration for dual credit is now open.  Applications are on the counter in the office.  Please see Dr. Schwan for questions.

Students Grades 6-7-8- 11 will be taking the Smarter Balanced and SD Science test in the next few weeks.  Please make plans to be here during testing as it must be made up.   All students will need headsets – please bring these to school. 
All backpacks and cell phones must be put away during testing.  Cell phones can not be accessed during testing.   All computers must be charged – you will test on your computer! 
 
Bring other work to do after you are finished testing.

Grade 12:  If you are planning to do the Sioux Falls Area Community Foundation Scholarships (final deadline March 15)and you want Mrs. Sternhagen to complete the ACT/grade information or to write a recommendation, you must have the information sent to her within the next few days so the forms can be submitted by March 9.   Create your scholarship account now and send out the online notifications to your recommenders now.  http://www.sfacf.org

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the April 8 test is due online by March 3, 2017 .  Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen or Groton but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: June, Sept. Oct. and Dec.   See Mrs. Sternhagen if you have questions.
