The Student Council is sponsoring a "Holiday Drive."  They will be accepting donations of new items to be given to area organizations for the purpose of helping those in need.  Please visit the Christmas tree in the office for ideas of what to donate.    Items may be dropped off at the office thru Friday, December 18.  Thank you for your help!

FCCLA members will meet during advisory on Tuesday, Dec. 8 to take a group picture.  Please wear one or more of the following colors: RED, BLACK, WHITE, and/or GRAY.  Thanks!

Attention 6^th and 7^th grade boys and girls: The Aberdeen Babysitting Clinic is scheduled for December 29, 2015 from 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm. Students who participate in the NESD AHEC Babysitting Clinic will learn basic CPR for child and infant, basic First-Aid, and basic babysitting information.  The cost of the training is $55 per student. Call 229-8309 to pre-register (PRE-REGISTRATION is REQUIRED).

Grades 11-12:   Reminder of things to do for the ACT Test on Saturday, December 12 in Aberdeen.   Bring your admission ticket and a driver’s license (photo ID), 2 calculators, pencils with erasers, a watch, and possibly a water bottle.  Be sure and show up at the testing location at least 15 minutes early.  It might be a good idea to review last minute formulas and rules.  No cell phones are to be used at any time during test (including the break). Testing should conclude around noon.  Those who are taking the writing assessment should be done by 12:45 p.m.  Be sure and do the practice test prior to the test.  Stop by the GO if you need an extra copy. 
 
Grade 12:  Build Dakota Scholarships at SD technical schools:  Full tuition and fees.  Work in SD   http://www.builddakotascholarships.com/  Apply early to be accepted; only a limited number of students are accepted in each program.   Must apply, be accepted into eligible program, and fill out scholarship by Dec. deadline of senior year

Grade 11:  Practice ACT test interpretation will be held on Tuesday, December 15 during English 11. 

Grade 12:  Financial Aid Information Night folders for those who could not attend will be passed out to grade 12 on Friday during English.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the Feb. 6, 2016 test is due online by Jan. 8.  Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: April 9 (Groton) and June 11.   ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen.
