September 11th MS/HS Bulletin

If there is a meeting during your advisory you must always check in with your advisory teacher prior to going to the meeting.

Methodist Youth Group will meet tonight from 7:00-8:00pm tonight.

We will have a meeting on Thursday during advisory in the office conference room.  We will decide the homecoming theme and discuss details of the week's events.  Bring your ideas from your classmates.

The Football game against Mobridge/Pollock on Friday night at 7:00 p.m. will be livestreamed.  Groton businesses are sponsoring this and it can be accessed by going to www.mobridgetribune.com –click on Video –then click on Live Sports.

Friday is the last day to sign up for DI.

If you have an idea for a business, you should submit that idea and win some money!  The deadline for the Big Idea competition is October 31st.  1st place prize is $1000 and a $1000 scholarship to Northern or Presentation.  See Mrs. Schwan for details.

Grade 12:
1.      Wendys High School Heisman – seniors can apply – based on academics, athletics, leadership.  First 25,000 to complete the application get a $10 Wendys gift card.  www.wendysheisman.com.  Local Deadline 9/27/13.

3.      Seniors interested in attending a 2 year school or working after graduation should see Mrs. Sternhagen.  The State of SD is introducing a WorkKeys Assessment program.   Please see Mrs. Sternhagen today
4.      Ivy League schools - Students and Parents - Visit with representatives from Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Penn and Stanford in Sioux Falls on September 25 at 7:30 pm or in Fargo on September 26 at 7:30 pm.  Stop by and see Mrs. Sternhagen.  www.exploringcollegeoptions.org

Grades 11-12:  Any student interested in a career in business should contact Mrs. Sternhagen about attending a Business Symposium in Aberdeen on Monday, September 30.  Topics will include an introduction into the business world, how to start a business, keys to success.  Stop by the GO by Sept. 10 for more information and to sign up to attend. 

Grades 10-12:  Scrubs Camp for students interested in health care careers.  Attend one of several camps www.scrubscamps.sd.gov .  Aberdeen is October 15 – fill out form and mail by ­­­­­­­Oct. 1.   Form requires a recommendation and parent signatures so fill out early.
