MS/HS Bulletin October 5

There are trees and plants leftover from homecoming in the shop.  Please claim them!

Table Talks today.

Grades 6-12 Student Health Screening (height/weight, vision, hearing, and scoliosis) will be on Thursday, October 13.  Grades 7 and 9 and all new students will have their vision tested so please wear your contacts or glasses on that day. 

Lifetouch pictures will be taken at the high school on Thursday, October 13.  Picture envelopes will be passed out in your English class on Tuesday, October 11.  Pictures can be ordered on line with the Picture Day ID:  GF026088Y0 at mylifetouch.com.

The only available entrance to the school during the day is the main entrance next to the office.  If you enter through another door or let other students in you will lose open lunch privileges.  The doors must remain closed and locked.

Groton’s first Pumpkin Fest is Saturday, October 8 in the city park from 10:00 – 3:00.  There will be hayrides to the pumpkin patch, pumpkin painting, face painting, train rides for little one, inflatables, mini photo sessions by appointment and lunch from 11:00 – 1:00.

Any student interested in helping with Pumpkin Fest on Saturday contact the office. 

If you missed the bulletin it is posted outside the office on the bulletin board.  It will also be posted in two locations in the lunchroom and if you go to grotonarea.com and click on Dr. Schwan’s Blog it is located there.

FBLA meeting Friday, October 7th during lunch in Ms. Lingbeck's room.  Lunch will be served.

Congratulations to Landon Marzahn who was chosen by the faculty and the senior class as the 2016 GHS DAR representative.  This award and scholarship competition is based on dependability, service, leadership and patriotism.
 
Grade 10:  Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership application essay due to Mrs. Sternhagen by Friday, October 14.  Please answer the questions in an essay format – typed, Times New Roman, 12.  Please turn in at least a ½ page essay.

Grade 11:  Reminder that you will be dismissed tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 6, around 9:00 am for our trip to Post High Planning Days and Dacotah Bank.  We will return around 2:30 pm.  Please wear business appropriate clothing and bring money for lunch.
