MS/HS Bulletin September 19, 2016

Cast of "Blithe Spirit" - if you did not get your schedule to Mrs. Honerman on Friday, you need to get it in TODAY!

The first drama club meeting of the year will be held during lunch on Thursday in Mrs. Honerman's classroom.

MathCounts meets Tuesday morning, beginning at 7:45 a.m., in Mrs. Johnson's room #226 in preparation for the Groton Invitational.

Lazy Farmers 4-H Club please turn in your 4-H book to the office by Monday September 19.  If you have questions about your book please contact Vicci Stange.

The homecoming shirt order forms and payment are due tomorrow morning in the office.

Hub City Bowl tickets are available for purchase at the business office.  Students are $3 and adults are $7.   The games are on Friday, September 23 at Swisher Field. 

Class meeting to discuss Homecoming is September 23rd from 2:00-2:33.

Grade 11:  Please bring the Post High Planning Day barcode registration form to Mrs. Sternhagen.  See Mrs. Sternhagen if you were absent on Wednesday.
 
Grade 12 Wendys Heisman:  Scholarship opportunity and recognition for scholar/athletes.  School, state, region, and national winners are selected.   Fill out the application online.  It must be verified by me – put me as the Reviewer (Jodi.Sternhagen@k12.sd.us)   Please make sure your GPA (unweighted), class rank and ACT scores are accurate.   Unweighted GPA’s are found on your transcript.  In order to insure that the verification process goes smoothly, please complete the application by Sept. 28, 2016 as the site is too busy later in the week.    www.wendysheisman.com.

Grades 9-12 Scrubs Camp – October 10, 2016 at Presentation College (deadline Sept. 30-  but may fill sooner).  Learn about health care careers possibly including psychologist, EMT/fire rescue, medical assisting, chiropractor, pharmacy, physical therapy and wound care.  Huron also has a camp on October 5, 2016.   http://scrubscamps.sd.gov/camp-locator/.  Application requires a signature from a teacher or counselor and a parent signature.

Questbridge National College Match:  www.questbridge.org  High achieving seniors, income qualifying (typically $65,000 per family of 4 with limited assets).  Links students to Ivy League schools and prestigious schools.  Due Sept. 27, 2016.

Grades 10-11 – due now:  Students signed up for the fall 2016 PSAT/NMSQT test last spring.  Please bring a$15 check made payable to GHS to Mrs. Sternhagen.
