MS/HS Bulletin September 16

he homecoming shirt order forms will be passed out in your English classes today. If you would like to place an order, forms and payment are due on Tuesday morning in the office.  

Hub City Bowl tickets are available for purchase at the business office.  Students are $3 and adults are $7.   The games are on Friday, September 23 at Swisher Field. 

Two class meetings to discuss Homecoming will be scheduled: today from 10:45-11:17 and then on September 23rd from 2:00-2:33.

If you missed the Carnival of Silver Skates registration but are still interested in participating, you must contact Rachael Crank at 605-881-4853 by this Friday and she will help with your late registration!  If you have any questions, please talk to Mrs. Hanten.

Soccer shirts can still be ordered until Friday, September 23.  Order forms are in the office. 

Junior high volleyball memory mates are the Monday, Sept. 19th after school.  Order forms are in the office.

Seniors who are interested in the Legislative Page program, please see Dr. Schwan.  The Legislative Research Council will give preference to students who apply by the deadline (November 14th) and have a 3.0 GPA or higher.  

Those who are interested in being in Destination Imagination this year please fill out the forms that are in the office.  Deadline for signing up is Friday Sept. 16th.

Grade 11:  Please bring the Post High Planning Day barcode registration form to Mrs. Sternhagen.  See Mrs. Sternhagen if you were absent on Wednesday.
 
Grades 11-12:  US Senate Youth Competition and Scholarship competition:  Opportunity to win a free trip to Washington, DC for two SD students.  GHS will select two students to take the test and send the results to the state.   Only students who hold an elected or appointed office in student government, civic or educational organizations can apply.  Test covers government and history.  Stop by my office if you are interested.  Deadline Friday, 9/16/16.

SDSU Senior Day:  Saturday, September 17, 2016   www.sdstate.edu/seniorday  Attend major fair, talk to admissions, free barbeque and admission to football game

Grades 10-11 – due 9/16/16:  Students signed up for the fall 2016 PSAT/NMSQT test last spring.  Please bring a $15 check made payable to GHS to Mrs. Sternhagen.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the October 22 test is due online by September 16, 2016 - TODAY.  Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen or Groton but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are:  Dec., Feb., April, and June.   ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen.
