MS/HS Bulletin April 20

The office has Elementary PAC “Bean Bag Toss” raffle tickets.  Mr. Guthmiller (SWEETG’s) made and donated the bean bag toss game for the drawing.  1 ticket for $1 or 3 tickets for $2.  Tickets can be purchased at the high school office this week or at the Elementary PAC Carnival on Saturday.

We have numerous students on the Owe List for various things. Please see Mrs. Morehouse to pay your dues and fines.

A student/parent info meeting about proposed Washington D.C. trip will be held at 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 28th in the arena.

Girls’ golf pictures are on Friday, April 22 at 3:30.  Order forms can be picked up in the office.

Groton Baseball, Softball, and T-Ball registration information is on the counter in the office. 

The Elementary PAC is looking for volunteers to help with the school carnival.  It is on Saturday, April 23.  The second shift is 6:00-7:15.  Please contact the elementary school if you would like to get in some volunteer hours. 

Robotics registration forms are in the office.

Juniors or seniors looking for volunteer hours: The library will be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays starting June 7th and going through July 28th. We are looking for readers on Tuesdays from 9:30 to 10:00-10:15.  On July 5th, the library will be closed, and there will be no story time that week.  If you are interested, please let Dr. Schwan know.  Thanks!

3^rd Annual DI Race to Globals, 5K walk/run or bike event is to be held Saturday, April 23.  Forms are in the office. 

2^nd Annual Army Reserve 5K March/Run/Walk to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of S.D. on Saturday, May 7.  For more information visit www.aberdeenarearunningclub.com. 

There will be a free Tdap vaccine for students ages 11-14, who have not previously been vaccinated, on Tuesday, April 26.  Return the completed consent form to the office.  Consent forms are on the counter in the office.  The shots will be given at the HS building.

High School Dual Credit Updates:

• Summer registrations are due to Dr. Schwan by Wednesday, May 18th.
• Fall registrations are due by August 1st.
• Tuition increase, effective fall 2016, to $48.33 per credit.

Grades 11-12:  The following college representatives will be in the School Counseling Office to visit with students.  Please make arrangements with your teachers.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the June 11, 2016 test is due online by May 6, 2016 .  Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Other test dates are: Sept, Oct. and Dec.   ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen.
