MS/HS Bulletin September 14

MathCounts meets Tuesday morning, beginning at 7:45 a.m., in Mrs. Johnson's room #226.

Dress up days for Homecoming week:
Monday--Opposite Gender Day
Tuesday--Toga Day
Wednesday--Tacky Tourist Day
Thursday--Color Day (Seniors-black, Juniors-white, Sophomores-blue, Freshmen-yellow, 8th grade-red, 7th grade-green, 6th grade-purple, Staff-pink)
Friday--Spirit Day

The all school play this year is a murder mystery thriller called “The Mousetrap” by Agatha Christie. Auditions will be Friday, September 18 at 3:45 in Mrs. Honerman’s classroom. Please attend if you are interested in being on stage or helping backstage. If you are unable to make auditions, please let Mrs. Honerman know BEFORE the audition day so she can set up another time for you to audition or get tech information. No experience necessary!

Homecoming shirt order forms are in the office.  They are due to the office by Wednesday, September 16.  Make checks payable to GHS.

All seniors, please meet with me on Wednesday the 16th during advisory in the music room.  Please plan for this meeting; your attendance is important.  Thank you, Dr. Schwan

Yearbook meeting today during advisory in room 304.  Check in with your advisory teacher before you go to the meeting. 

Groton FBLA K5 Color Run/Walk is October 3, 2015.  Registration forms are in the office. 

Carnival of Silver Skates registration forms are in the office.  Registration and Costume Measuring will be Monday, September 14 at the warming house.

Good luck to the Cross Country team today at Webster.  You will be dismissed at 2:00 p.m.

Good luck to the JV football team today at Doland.  You will be dismissed at 3:00 p.m.

Grades 10-11 PSAT:  The following students need to bring $15 (check made payable to GHS) to Mrs. Sternhagen to pay for the PSAT test (students signed up to take this test in spring 2015).  The test will be given here on the morning of October 14.  Bring check by Sept. 18 (Friday).

Grade 11:  Please bring your computers to English on Wednesday as Mrs. Sternhagen will have you sign up for Post High Planning Days. 


Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the October 24 test is due online by Sept. 18.   Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen or Groton but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Test dates are: October 24 and December 12.   ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen. 

Grades 11-12:  The following college representatives will be in the School Counseling Office to visit with students.  Please make arrangements with your teachers.
