MS/HS Bulletin November 5

Congratulations to the following MathCounts students for earning placement awards at Wednesday's Roncalli competition:
7th grade individual: Isaac S - 1st place medal
7th grade team: Trey G, Samantha P, Erin Unzen, and Grace W - 3rd place trophies
8th grade team: Kayla J, Austin J, Noah P, and Isaac S - 2nd place trophies

Cast and crew of Mousetrap, please meet with Dr. Schwan today right away at the beginning of advisory in the library conference room.  

Cast and Crew of "The Mousetrap" - rehearsal today (Thursday) has been changed to 4:30 PM. We will be working on the set, so everyone who is available, please stop by and help! We will be painting, so wear appropriate clothing. On Saturday, we will be working on the set at 10:00 am. Please be there to help so that we can get everything up!

Groton Area will be playing at 6pm (central time) in Winner on Saturday!  GO TIGERS!!! 

A flu shot clinic for grades 6-12 will be on Thursday, November 12 in the HS/MS nurses office.   Consent forms are in the office and must be returned and completed by Friday, November 6.    The time of the shots will be announced at a later date. 

The following need to pay the office $5 for Football Parents’ Night:  Brady G, Steve F, Chris Z, Aaron S, Aubray H

Snow Queen Talent Competition forms are in the office. Forms need to be turn in to Mr. Swanson by Nov. 18. Those performing will have run-throughs on Monday, Nov. 23 at 3:30 PM. Preliminary cuts may be made if there is a large number of performers.
Good luck to the volleyball team tonight at Milbank.  It will be Groton vs Sisseton at 6:00 p.m.  The team will be dismissed at 3:15.
 
Grade 12:  The Senior Scholarship Presentation will be held on Thursday, November 12 from 6:45 – 7:30 in the computer lab for you and your parents.  This will be a great chance to learn about the scholarship process and about Groton scholarships.  If you cannot come, I will bring the packets to English class and will talk with you throughout the year.  Invitations will be sent to your parents – if at all possible, please come to the presentation with your parents!

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the December 12 test is due online by Nov. 6.   Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen or Groton but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Test dates are: October 24 and December 12.   ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen. 
 
 
Grades 11-12:  The following college representatives will be in the School Counseling Office to visit with students.  Please make arrangements with your teachers.
