MS/HS Bulletin January 21, 2014



Students who remain in the school building after regular school hours must be under the direct supervision of an adult at all times.  Students not under the supervision of an adult will be asked to leave and will be expected to comply.  Students caught entering the building without permission after hours (i.e. coming into the building late at night) will be subject to disciplinary action.  Thank you – Mr. Schwan.

 

Sunday is the Annual Kiwanis Pancake Brunch at the Groton Community Center from 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.  Adults are $6, children are $3, childrenages 0 – 5 are free.

 

Chapter MathCounts practices Wednesday, and Thursday mornings, beginning at 7:45 a.m. in Mrs. Johnson's room #226.

 

Open Gym  JK-8th Grades from 3-5PM accompanied by an adult and 6-12th grades from 5-7PM in the GHS Arena.  Students in 6th-8th grade may come to either session.

 

Valentine flower orders are now being taken between now and January 23rd for delivery on Thursday February 13th during advisory. Order forms are available in the office or from Mrs. Gonsoir. All orders must be prepaid. After filling out an order form, please complete a card putting who the flowers are for on the front of the card or envelope and what type of flower is ordered on the back of the card or envelope. Proceeds are used to support GHS debate.

 

Good luck to the girls’ basketball team at Webster tonight.

 

Good luck to the JH wrestlers at Aberdeen Central tonight.  You will be dismisses at 2:45 and leave at 3:00 p.m.

 

Grade 11:  Reminder to bring calculators to English today and the salary for your job (found on SDMyLife). 

 

Grade 11:   Bring you scholarship application for the SLFC to English today for Mrs. Sternhagen to pick up.

 

Grade 11:  Youth Business Adventure:  Applications are due Jan. 31 to Mrs. Sternhagen.  YBA is a 1 week program held in June in which students learn about economic, management, and market-oriented issues.  It is a leadership experience in which all students (regardless of what career interest area) will benefit.  Cost is $250 but financial assistance is available if needed.  See Mrs. Sternhagen for the application.

 

Grades 11-12:  The following college representatives will be in the School Counseling Office to visit with students.  Please make arrangements with your teachers.
