Happy May Day!!!!

Congratulations to Mrs. Tietz and the FACS for a great program last night.  Your projects are outstanding, and we appreciate that you will share them with us.  Thank you to those of you who provided the entertainment as well!  Mrs. Schwan

Thank you to all FACS students and talent performers for all you did to make last night's style show a success!  You all did a wonderful job!  Thanks also to all that helped behind the scenes: Chuck Padfield, Lucas S, Landon M, Chance S, Hunter L, Mr. Johnson, Mr. Swanson, and Mr. Franken, we appreciate all of your help.  A special thanks to the FCCLAers for all you've done to make this year a success!

Students planning to attend the Elementary Track and Field Day on Friday, May 8 are reminded of School Board Policy:  Students are not allowed to attend regular elementary school activities which are held during the school day unless they are watching a sibling, they are accompanied by a parent, and are not on the ineligibility list. All students meeting the aforementioned criteria and who are planning on attending must have their parents notify the office at least one day in advance. Any violations will result in an unexcused absence. This includes any K-12 classroom or co-curricular activity, unless it is approved by the principal

The library will be closing on May 11.  All books need to be turned in on or before May 11. 

Groton Area DI will be serving pork loin sandwiches and hotdogs prior to the Elementary Concert on May 5.  Serving will be from 5-7 pm in the HS gym.

Cheerleader sign-up sheet is on the counter in the office.

All football players going to the Valley City Team Camp give your registration form to Mr. Wanner this week. 

Groton Baseball, Softball and T-Ball Registration forms are in the office.

Congratulations to the 4 year Principal’s Honor Roll Recipients  These students have been on the honor roll every quarter for the 4 years of high school:  Rachel B, Kennedy C, Maddison C, Jackson D, Gabe D, Natalia D, Kyler E, Katie G, Taylor G, Maryn H, Matt K, Courtney K, Jacob M, Kaitlin O, Alyssa S, Luke S, Luke S, Sydney T, Haley U, Kasey W.  These students will have Jungle pizza for lunch on Friday May 8 in the arena lobby.

Congratulations to the 2 year Principal’s Honor Roll Recipients  These students have been on the honor roll every quarter for grades 7 and 8:  Kaitlyn A, Jennie D, Tylan G, Taylor H, Shyla L, Samantha M, Alexis S, AnneMarie S, Emily T, Cassandra T.  These students will have Jungle pizza for lunch on Monday, May 18 in the arena lobby.

Congratulations to 1 year Principal’s Honor Roll Recipients  These students have been on the honor roll every quarter during 6^th grade: Jack A, Kaden C, Tiara D, Tessa E, Alyssa F, Jasmine G, Trey G, Brooklyn G, Alexis H, Alexa H, Chandler L, Tanae L, Sage M, Samantha P, Kale P, Lucas S, Isaac S, Erin U, Grace W.  These students will have Jungle pizza for lunch on Monday, May 18 in the arena lobby.

Grades 10-11:  Free Summer Health Academy at Avera St. Lukes and Presentation.  Learn about athletic training, cardiopulmonary, laboratory, nursing, occupational therapy, pharmacy, physical therapy, radiology, respiratory therapy, social work, speech therapy and surgery.  June 9-11.   Fill out form, essay, recommendation from a teacher/counselor who knows you well, and transcript (request from office).  Deadline is May 2 (must be to Avera St. Luke’s by May 4).  Forms are available from Mrs. Sternhagen.

Grades 11-12  ACT:  Registration for the June 13 test is due online by May 8.   Register at www.actstudent.org   and pay with a credit card.  You will test in Aberdeen but be sure to list Groton as your home school.  Remember you must upload a photo to register and then print the admission ticket.  Fee waivers are available – stop by the GO.  Test dates are:  June 13 and next fall in September, October and December.    ACT sign up help is available from Mrs. Sternhagen.
